Guan Gong began as Guan Yu, a general in AD 160 during the Three Kingdoms period. By the Sui dynasty, he was deified. By 1594, a Ming emperor canonised him as the God of War.
In Taoism, he became Guan Sheng Di Jun. In Buddhism, he was adopted as Sangharama Bodhisattva. His red face, long beard, and Green Dragon Crescent Blade became the most recognisable iconography in East Asian religious art.

Our Huizhou foundry has completed Guan Gong commissions up to 16 feet, including a 14-foot seated Guan Gong for a Taoist temple in Taiwan and a 12-foot standing Guan Gong for a corporate headquarters in Singapore.
